EDITORS COMMENTS
is a captivating oil painting by Jean Jacques Francois Le Barbier that depicts a significant episode during the French Revolution. Set on the outskirts of Nancy in August 1790, the artwork showcases a moment of intense conflict and bravery. In this scene, soldiers and officers stationed in Nancy rise up against their superiors, leading to a clash between them and the forces commanded by Marquis Francois Claude de Bouille. Amidst the chaos, Lieutenant Andre Desilles emerges as a symbol of valor as he attempts to intervene in the revolt. However, his efforts prove futile. Le Barbier's masterful brushwork brings life to every detail - from the expressions on each character's face to the dynamic composition that conveys tension and action. This painting transports viewers back in time to witness firsthand one small yet powerful moment within an era defined by revolution. Leonard de Selva skillfully captures this remarkable artwork through his photography expertise. With his lens focused on "The Heroic Courage Of The Young Desilles" he preserves its beauty for generations to come.
