Oil on board, no date. According to the Official Guide to the North Gallery, Fifth Edition, 1892; The Opossum feeds on the leaves of Eucalyptus paniculata, Sm. and Loranthus aurantiacus, A.Cunn. which is parasitic on the former, and closely mimics it in foliage. The pretty little animal was pulled out of a hole in the tree, and a few hours afterwards he had become so tame that he took milk out of a teaspoon
