This evocative photograph captures the charming facade of the Fox & Hounds Public House in Borough Green, Kent, as it looked in the 1950s. The image, taken from the left side, showcases the quintessential English pub with its distinctive red brick exterior, half-timbering, and ornate signage. The Fox & Hounds, which was located at TN15 8JE, was a beloved local establishment that dates back to at least 1951, as evidenced by the trading record detailed on the reverse of this print. However, sadly, this historic pub was demolished in 1953 and replaced with a small close of townhouses. The 1950s was an era of significant change in Britain, and the loss of the Fox & Hounds is a reminder of the many traditional pubs that have been lost to development over the years.
