This evocative photograph captures the corner view of the Mitre PH, a beloved public house located in the heart of Tottenham, London. The Mitre PH, which was operated by Hoare and Company Limited (not to be confused with the Mitre Pub Company), was a cherished institution in the community, serving as a gathering place for friends, families, and neighbors for generations. The pub's rich history can be traced back to at least the late 19th century, making it a beloved piece of Tottenham's cultural heritage. Unfortunately, the Mitre PH, like so many historic buildings, was not immune to the ravages of time. By July 2018, the pub had been demolished, making way for a new rebuild on the same site. The back of this photograph bears the address of the Mitre PH, Tottenham (Old), London N15 6DL, and the date of its demolition, 1939.
