Arnaldus de Villa Nova, Spanish alchemist
Arnaldus de Villa Nova (c.1235-1313), Spanish scholar and alchemist. Also known as Arnaud de Villeneuve and various other spellings, he was a scholar who studied a wide range of subjects, including chemistry, medicine, physics and Arabic philosophy. He was employed at various courts, including those at Aragon, Spain, and Paris, France. Various writings are attributed to him, but the authenticity of these attributions is not certain.
