Taken in 1935 at the Royal Air Force Memorial on Whitehall Steps in London, this image transports us back to an era when sacrifice and heroism were etched into every corner of society. Designed by Sir Reginald Blomfield and sculpted by William Reid Dick, this magnificent monument stands as a solemn reminder of all ranks from various branches of the British Empire's air forces who gave their lives during World War I. Made from elegant Portland stone, it exudes strength and resilience against the backdrop of bustling city life.
